267 About the Author

Lyanne Kieneker was born in Drachten, the Netherlands, on May 18th in 1989.

After finishing high school at Gomarus College in Groningen in 2007, she studied Nutrition & Dietetics at the Hanzehogeschool Groningen. Lyanne received her Bachelor of Science degree in 2011. After graduating in Groningen, Lyanne continued her education at the VU University in Amsterdam studying Health Sciences. She obtained her Master of Science degree in the two specializations

Nutrition & Health and Prevention & Public Health in 2013. From 2014 to 2018,

she worked as a PhD student under supervision of prof. dr. S.J.L. Bakker, prof. dr. R.T. Gansevoort, prof. dr. R.A. de Boer, and dr. M.M. Joosten at the department of Internal Medicine, division of Nephrology, in the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG).

The work of this thesis led to several oral and poster presentations at national and international conferences. During her PhD trajectory, Lyanne further developed her skills as a researcher by completing the training for Epidemiologist B by the Netherlands Epidemiological Society.

After finishing her PhD, Lyanne proceded working at the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Nephrology of the UMCG as a postdoctoral researcher under supervision of Prof. dr. R.T. Gansevoort. In this project, she focuses on the prevention of developing chronic kidney disease and cardiovascular disease among the Dutch general population.
