1. Spierechografie is een valide en betrouwbare methode voor het meten van spieromvang bij ouderen. (Dit proefschrift)
2. De curved transducer is geschikter voor het meten van spierdikte dan de lineaire transducer. (Dit proefschrift)
3. Spieroppervlakte is een betere parameter voor het kwantificeren van spieren dan spierdikte. (Dit proefschrift)
4. Niet het meten van spiermassa, maar het meten van spieromvang is van belang voor vroegtijdige herkenning van fysieke kwetsbaarheid. (Dit proefschrift)
