André Willem Keizer was born in Leeuwarden on June 18th, 1980. In 1999 he completed secondary education at the Comenius College in Leeuwarden. In 2005 he graduated in Cognitive Psychology at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen and started as a PhD-student at the Leiden University. Here he studied the neurocognitive basis of feature integration and gave lectures on fMRI, workgroups on cognitive neuroscience and supervised internships. Since August 2009, he works as a post-doc at the University of Amsterdam on the neural correlates of consciousness.
