Preparing for CADASIL therapy

1. Mensen met een CADASIL mutatie resulterend in NOTCH3 cysteïne correctie hebben minder NOTCH3 aggregatie en een milder fenotype dan klassieke CADASIL patiënten. (dit proefschrift)

2. De ontwikkelde GOM stadiëring kan gebruikt worden voor uniforme semi-kwantificatie van GOM deposities in de CADASIL vaatwand van muis en mens.

3. Mutant transgene NOTCH3 muizen ontwikkelen extensieve NOTCH3 aggregatie en GOM deposities in de (hersen)bloedvaten, maar de hersendoorbloeding, -functie en -histologie blijven tot hoge leeftijd intact. (dit proefschrift)

8. Zoals 'etherdiscipline' de portofooncommunicatie helpt, zo zou 'biomarkerdiscipline' de therapieontwikkeling voor CADASIL helpen. 9. Om bij een promotietraject of een marathon de eindstreep te halen zijn drie

elementen essentieel: goede coaching, een lange adem en onvoorwaardelijke steun van supporters.
