Solution for the Shunting Crew Problem
In this appendix, a solution is given for the Shunting Crew Problem. The solution consists of seven lists of tasks given to shunting drivers. The meaning of the columns in these lists is as follows:
Beg. Time: Beginning time of task. End. Time: Ending time of task.
Beg. Track: Track where a shunting driver is needed at the beginning of the task.
End. Track: Track where a shunting driver will be at the end of the task.
Walk. Time: Time needed by the shunting driver to walk between two tracks given in minutes.
Job Time: Time it takes to complete a task given in minutes. Slack time: Avavilable time between two tasks given in minutes.
