The construction sector in Croatia

The study presents the construction sector in Croatia with figures about the market gathered from the data for 2017 and 2018. It includes information about how the sector is working with the help of data about buildings permits, market situation and general habits of the population.

General data about Croatia is displayed to educate the peruser about overview regarding the market and precise information about the trends.

The Croatian construction industry is strongly divided, and this has been even more obvious after the economic crisis of 2008.

Moreover, after being incited by the financial emergency and following the most recent improvements in the EU Member States, where small and medium-sized organizations are all the more effectively adjusting to the cutting edge market requirements, the construction industry in Croatia is gradually expanding during the years. This pattern reflects both the development of such organizations and the significant decrease of huge organizations.

Despite the crisis, until 2008, the construction industry in Croatia has shown constant growth. In 2010, the GDP of the construction sector in Croatia was about 4% but after nine years, the part of construction in the GDP was more than 7% in 2019. It is a significant sector in Croatia with the transport infrastructure, the residential buildings, pipelines, communication, and powerlines.

In 2019, 9,932 building permits were issued in Croatia, for works totalling 36 915 621 000 HRK, so it appears that the sector is a bit slowing down.

Tables are introduced in the study about the numbers of buildings permits issued, the planned value of works, construction by type of structure, numbers of workers, working hours, the value of constructions, housing prices and average sales prices of new dwellings.

Besides, Croatia’s average numbers are compared with several European countries. Some tables are available in the study about the value of performed construction work abroad.

Following this, some information about the legislation, necessary permits and licences will be provided and then you will find a list of several contacts on the sector sort by categories with the address, phone, mail and website address.
