SPM9539: Economy, Ecology and Technology of Networked Industrial Complexes
2013-2014 Assignments
During this course you will be asked to do a series of coherent (written) weekly assignments.
These assignments will help you explore and apply the theory that is offered and discussed in this course.
The assignments will provide a basis for the final written report that is mandatory for this course. Making the assignments will help you to structure the various theories and perspectives that are discussed.
Each week you will be expected to read and digest 2-3 scientific articles. These provide background information on the theory discussed during lecture hours. The articles may augment the lecturer’s similar viewpoints or offer completely alternate viewpoints on the same subject.
In order to complete the assignments, you will have to spend time on literature research.
This is required to complete the assignments – you will have to assemble sufficiently authorative information on your industry/locale of choice. Also, you may find articles that offer similar or different perspectives.
Please make sure to maintain a suitable bibliography of material used and/or cited.
These articles will help you to make the assignments and will provide the basis for your reference list of your final written report.
Probably you are comfortable with MS Word / EndNote. You may, however, consider to switch to LaTeX / BibTeX.
To start using LaTeX is somewhat a challenge. When writing larger reports it is certainly worth the effort! On Windows platforms, TeXnicCenter is the preferred app to work conveniently with LaTeX; JabRef is very useful BibTeX reference manager. Google is a very very useful handbook!
