This third assignment will help you focus on the location factors of the industry you have chosen in the week 1 assignment.

1. Describe the most important location factors for your industry by addressing the following questions.

a. What are the main competitive mechanisms in your industry?

b. What resources are essential to operation in your industry?

c. What common location factors would you look for when finding and deciding upon a new location to invest?

d. Which of the discussed location theories would fit best with the site selection process in your industry?

2. Give your informed opinion on the discussed controversy between Witlox and Porter on the important aspects of location factors in site selection processes.

(E.g. provide valid arguments and try to enhance your reasoning with literature references other than the articles provided!)

3. Select one of the companies in your cluster, and perform a ‘skeleton’ Porterian Analysis, using Porter’s diamond as a guideline
