Alhamdulillaahirobbil ‘alamin, thanks to Allah SWT who helped to finish this thesis.

I realize that I could not have finished this thesis without the help of many spe-cial people. They supported me from the beginning to the completion. Therefore, in the final part of this thesis, I would like to thank all of them.

First of all, my thanks to Jan BM Kuks and Janke Cohen-Schotanus whom never failed to motivate and support me. You were patient, good listeners, found time to review my work giving feedback when needed and lastly never stopped believ-ing in me.

Jan BM Kuks, I remember how nice you welcomed me when I arrived for the first time in Groningen. You picked me up and showed me the UMCG and our academic building and also my room. Thank you very much for all of things you have done for me. No words can explain my gratitude for your patience and will-ingness to supervise me.

Janke Cohen-Schotanus, my great teacher and best friend. Thank you very much for your kindness in guiding me step by step since I started my thesis until its completion. I remember that at your professor inauguration, I sang a song for you. I like to write here what I sang that night:

“From the bottom of my heart, I say thank you To my great teacher and to my friend

You’re always on my side You always make me strong To face anything in my life

You are candlelight in the darkness To show me the way to be the best I always remember, the love given to me Forever you will be in my heart”

Johanna Schönrock-Adema, collaborating with you and interacting with your family are part of the best memories that I had in Groningen. I really enjoyed every minute working with you because of how much I learned from you. Your

contribution in every study in this thesis is a gift for me. I will always remember my visit to your house and meeting with your family, and of course “Fierljeppen”. Ova Emillia, you already know me since I was an undergraduate. You were my supervisor for my undergraduate thesis, my postgraduate thesis, and now, my PhD thesis. You inspired me to continue my study in medical education, and you are also one of my role models as medical educationalist. It was such an honor to become your student and to work with you to develop and innovate medical education.

Tineke Bouwkamp-Timmer, my best friend and my private teacher for writing in English. Very often, I disturbed you just to talk, consult, ask questions or for general help. You always smiled and made time to help me. Even when I was in Indonesia, you always tried to be of help. Having a friend like you is a gift that I will always cherish. I will always remember your kindness, and especially our “chocolate time”.

Ally van Hell, one of the studies in your thesis was the inspiration for a critical part of this thesis. Your feedback and guidance in the beginning of my study played a major role in finishing this thesis.

Wouter Kerdijk, my best friend and my best consultant on statistics. You helped me a lot in analyzing my data, but also helping my stay in Groningen very enjoy-able.

My colleagues of the Center for Innovation and Research of Medical Education: Martha van der Wal, Nynke Renting, Nynke Schripsema, Janet Raat, Hanke Dekker, Dario Cecilio Fernandes, thank you very much for all your support and love. All the stories that we shared in our meeting together will be an everlasting story that I will always cherish. On one occasion, I wrote a song for all of you, and I put the text on the white board in our room. Now, I like to put it again in my thesis:

“Morning comes and goes you’re always be there

with smile, spirit and friendship you made me have believed to make dream come true
