About the author
Jennigje (Jessica) Overweg was born in Smilde on October 8, 1983. In 2001, she started the bachelor degree programme of Communication at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in Communication, she continued her studies in 2005 as a student of the pre-master Communication and Information Sciences at the University of Groningen. Jessica obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degree in Communication and Information Sciences in 2007. After graduating, she worked as a project assistant at KPN in Groningen. In 2008, Jessica started the research master Linguistics at the University of Groningen. During her master’s study, she worked as a research assistant in several research projects. She received a master’s degree in Linguistics (cum laude) in 2011.
In September 2011, Jessica obtained a position as a PhD student at the Center for Language and Cognition at the University of Groningen. During her PhD, she attended the PhD training programs of the Graduate School for the Humanities and the Research School of Behavioral and Cognitive Neurosciences. She also served four years as eye lab coordinator. Since February 2017, Jessica is a researcher in the programme Tele-vulnerability at the Radiocommunications Agency, which is part of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy.
