Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic infl ammatory, demyelinating, neurodegener- ative disease of the central nervous system aff ecting the brain and spinal cord.

It is still diffi cult to predict disease outcome of MS patients. The aim of this thesis was to better understand the role of both clinical and radiological measures in

predicting disability progression and cognitive decline in MS patients.
