Yesterday

& Today Style Sheet template

[Before starting, print a copy / save an extra copy of this Style sheet template for your own guidance and reference while formatting your article!]

1. “Type” or “Copy and paste” your article text in THIS “Style sheet document”; 2. Save the document immediately under article- or author’s title;

3. Select the “Home” tab in Microsoft Word in the taskbar (Left-hand corner). Press “Alt + Ctrl + Shitf + S” to display the different styles of the journal (a “Styles window” will open on your right-hand side);

4. See the Style sheet template for guidance to format your article. For example, as indicated on style sheet template: For the “Article title”, search for the Style Name: “Heading 1” in the “Styles window” and select (automatically it will display the correct font, size etc. of the specific part of the article).

IMPORTANT NOTES:

Set Language as South African English before starting. Go to: ‘Review’ tab in the taskbar – Select ‘Set Language’ – Select ‘English (South Africa)’ and select ‘OK’.

Footnotes or the Harvard reference method are allowed.

[Style Name: Author]: (Author’s details – see below)

Name (not italics)

Institution or University (italics) City (italics)

E-mail address (not italics)

[Style Name: Heading 3]: (All Subheadings) – for example: Abstract

[Style Name: Block text]: (Abstract’s body text)

[Style Name: Block text]: Keywords: (Heading: underline and bold) and (keywords – a minimum of 6-10 keywords required; each keyword must start with a capital letter and followed by a semi-colon)

[Style Name: Normal]: For the body text of article

[Style Name: Heading 4]: (For third level sub headings – for example: ‘History education’)
