Anne-Mariee van Berkel werd geboren op 15 mei 1969 te Utrecht. Het atheneum diplomaa behaalde zij in 1988 aan het Kottenpark College te Enschede. In datzelfde jaarr kon zij beginnen met de studie Geneeskunde aan de Katholieke Universiteit te Leuven,, België. Na ingeloot te zijn werd de studie in 1989 vervolgd aan de Universiteitt van Amsterdam. In het laatste jaar van haar studie deed zij een onder-zoeksstagee op de afdeling Medische Microbiologie van het AMC (Prof. dr J. Dankert) welkee werd uitgevoerd aan het Medisch Wetenschappelijk Instituut te Paramaribo, Surinamee (Prof. dr B.F.J. Oostburg). In december 1994 behaalde zij haar doctoraal-examen.. In de laatste fase voor het doctoraalexamen werd de basis van dit proef-schriftt gelegd op de afdeling Maag-Darm-Leverziekten van het AMC {Prof dr K. Huibregtse).. Na het artsexamen in augustus 1997 werd de opleiding tot Maag-Darm-Leverartss gestart op de afdeling Inwendige Geneeskunde van het Kennemer Gasthuiss in Haarlem (opleider Dr J. Ferwerda) en vervolgd op de afdeling Maag-Darm-Leverziektenn van het AMC (opleiders Prof. dr G.NJ. Tytgat, Prof dr S.J.H, van Deventer,, thans Dr P. Fockens). Vanaf maart 2004 zal zij als Maag-Darm-Leverarts verbondenn zijn aan het Rode Kruis Ziekenhuis te Beverwijk.
