Curriculum Vitae

Chiel Maas werd op 18 januari 1980 geboren te Apeldoorn. In 1998 behaalde hij het VWO Gymnasium diploma aan het Canisius College te Nijmegen. In datzelfde jaar startte hij zijn studie Biologie aan de Universiteit van Utrecht. Tijdens deze studie liep hij stage in de groep van Jan Andries Post op de afdeling Moleculaire Celbiologie van de Universiteit van Utrecht, onder begeleiding van Sujata Bapat, en in de groep van David Williams op de afdeling Experimentele Hematologie van het Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center te Cincinnati in de Verenigde Staten, onder begeleiding van Saurabh Chandra. Na het behalen van zijn master diploma eind 2003 in de specialisatierichting Fundamenteel Biomedische Wetenschappen (FBMW), begon hij in Mei 2004 aan zijn promotie-onderzoek in de groep van Jannie Borst op de afdeling Immunologie van het Nederlands Kanker Instituut, te Amsterdam. De resultaten van dit onderzoek zijn beschreven in dit proefschrift.
