Curriculumm Vitae
Angeliquee Jansen was born on March 18th, 1970 in Delft, the Netherlands. After attending thee gymnasium p at the Sint Stanislas College in Delft, she started her medical training in 19888 at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam. During her study she worked at the Department off Neurology of the Dijkzigt Academic Hospital, presently Erasmus Medical Center, as a memberr of the students nursing team. As a student she performed two research trainings, tnn the first training, she participated in a study on the effects of hormonal therapy in
S.. Drop, Department of Endocrinology). In the second one, she performed a study on the resistancee of Plasmodium falciparum to chloroquine in Cote d '(voire, West-Africa (Dr. M.C. Henryy and Prof. B. Doctors van Leeuwen, University of Agriculture, Wageningen, the Netherlands).. She did her internships on gynaecology and obstetrics at the Free State University,, Bloemfontein, South Africa.
Afterr obtaining her medical degree in 1996, she worked as a junior resident at the Departments off Cardiology and internal Medicine in Ziekenhuis Hilversum and, from March 1998, at the Departmentt of Cardiology in the Academic Medical Center (AMC) in Amsterdam. In September 1998,, she started working with Professor John Kastelein at the Department of Vascular Medicinee in the AMC. During the first year she participated in a large study on the effects of aggressivee versus conventional lipid lowering in secondary prevention of coronary artery disease. Inn October 1999, she started the GiRaFH (Genetic Identification of Risk Factors in Familial Hypercholesterolemia)) study that resulted in this thesis. Simultaneously with her research activities,, she worked as physician at the AMC Lipid Clinic. In April 2003 she started her trainingg in Cardiology as a resident in Internal Medicine in the Rijnland Ziekenhuis, Leiderdorp. Fromm April 2005 she will continue as a resident in Cardiology in Leiderdorp, and from April 2006,, in the Leiden University Medical Center.
Angeliquee is married to Ton van der Heijden and lives in Leiden.
