1. Endoscopische resectie is de hoeksteen van endoscopische behandeling. (dit proefschrift) 2. EUS tijdens de work-up voor endoscopische behandeling van vroege Barrett neoplasie heeft weinig toegevoegde waarde naast endoscopische inspectie en diagnostische endoscopische resectie. (dit proefschrift) 3. 3.Multiband mucosectomie verdient de voorkeur over de ER-cap techniek voor piece-meal endoscopische resectie, daar het even effectief en veilig is, maar significant sneller en goedkoper. (dit proefschrift) 4. Stapsgewijze radicale endoscopische resectie van Barrett slokdarm met vroege neoplasie is zeer effectief, maar gaat gepaard met een onacceptabel hoog percentage slokdarm stenosen. (dit proefschrift) 5. Endoscopische resectie voorafgaand aan circumferentiele RFA dient beperkt te blijven tot 2cm in lengte en 50% van de omtrek, om het risico op complicaties tijdens RFA te minimaliseren. (dit proefschrift) 6. Radiofrequente ablatie is zeer effectief en veilig voor behandeling van Barrett slokdarm. (dit proefschrift) 7. Endoscopische resectie van zichtbare afwijkingen, gecombineerd met radiofrequente ablatie van resterend Barrett epitheel, is de behandeling van eerste keuze voor Barrett slokdarm met vroege neoplasie. (dit proefschrift) 8. Het neosquameuze epitheel dat regenereert na radiofrequente ablatie is endoscopisch en histologisch niet te onderscheiden van normaal preëxistent plaveiselcelepitheel. (dit proefschrift) 9. Een multicenter studie met expert endoscopisten resulteert onvermijdelijk in een hoog testosteron gehalte dat geneutraliseerd moet worden door vrouwelijke invloeden om een dergelijke studie voorspoedig te kunnen laten verlopen. 10. Een voordeel van het EPD is dat alle relevante gegevens vast kunnen worden gelegd. Echter, om een onoverzichtelijke brei aan proza te voorkomen moeten we misschien meer nadruk leggen op ‘relevant’ dan op ‘alles’. 11.
