CURRICULUM VITAE
Irma Heemskerk was born in Noordwijkerhout on 5 March 1962. In 1980 she com-pleted secondary school at Fioretti College, Lisse (Atheneum B). She received in-service higher vocational education to become Clinical Neurophysiology Technician at the Meer en Bosch Epilepsy Centre in Heemstede, and studied Vascular Diagnos-tic at the Hogeschool Haarlem. She worked in this field for 21 years, mainly at the St. Lucas Andreas Hospital in Amsterdam. Sidelines were several years of editorial staff membership of the trade journal of vascular diagnostic technicians, and teach-ing activities at the Hogeschool Haarlem.
At the same time, Irma studied Social Sciences at the University of Amsterdam, and graduated in 1991. In 2001 she became research assistant at the SCO-Kohnstamm Instituut of the University of Amsterdam, were she focussed on re-search in the field of educational labour market, social equality in education, and educational use of ICT. In September 2004, she started her PhD-project at the graduate school of Teaching and Learning of the University of Amsterdam on the field of inclusiveness of ICT in education. Recently she has returned to the SCO-Kohnstamm Instituut.
