ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Rosaline Elisabeth Pouw, called Roos, was born on December 14, 1982 in Rotterdam.
In 2000 she graduated from grammar school at the Christelijk College in Zeist. She started medical school at the University of Utrecht and obtained her medical degree in September 2006, after a research fellowship at the Center for Engineering in Medicine, Harvard Medical School, Boston.
In November 2006 she started her PhD project at the Department of Gastro-enterology and Hepatology at the Academic Medical Center, Amsterdam. The main focus of her research was aimed at endoscopic eradication of Barrett’s oesophagus containing early neoplasia, using endoscopic resection and radiofrequency ablation. The research was performed under supervision of Prof. Jacques Bergman and resulted in this thesis.
In October 2010, she started her training in Gastroenterology & Hepatology at the Department of Internal Medicine at the St. Antonius Hospital Nieuwegein, and the Department of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam.
