HOOFSTUK 5: ANNOTASIE TOT DIE VERTALING
5.4 Voorstelle vir verdere studie
’n Volledige deskriptiewe ontleding van die bestaande vertalings van die Narnia-reeks, asook vergelykings met die vertalings van ander storiereekse behoort meer lig te werp op die vraag of die feit dat ’n teks deel van ’n reeks is, die vertaling daarvan beïnvloed, en indien wel, in watter mate. Dit kan aanleiding gee tot konkrete voorstelle aan uitgewers en/of vertalers met die opstel van vertaalopdragte vir soortgelyke vertalings. Die feit dat meer as een vertaler aan die Narnia-reeks gewerk het, en dat die vertalings dekades uitmekaar gedoen is, bied ook unieke insigte in die verskillende hanterings van vertaaluitdagings deur die onderskeie vertalers in verskillende tydvakke.
’n Studie oor die verskille tussen die brontekste en die filmweergawes ten einde vas te stel waarom sekere aanpassings gemaak is en die impak daarvan, kan interessante vertaaluitdagings en die hantering daarvan identifiseer, aangesien ’n film inderdaad ook as “vertaling” van ’n bronteks beskou kan word. ’n Navorsingsvraag wat hieruit kan voortvloei is of die vertaler van ’n teks wat vir die silwerdoek verwerk is, op verskille tussen die bronteks en filmweergawes behoort ag te slaan en of aanpassings ter wille van ooreenstemming met die silwerdoekstorie en –karakters ’n opsie is?
