5. Overwegingen en conclusie
De fabrikant claimt dat behandeling met rivaroxaban een kosteneffectieve behandeling is ten opzichte van LMWH/VKA behandeling. De resultaten zijn gevoelig voor de relatieve effecten (HR) op VTEs en bloedingen, de disutiliteit die gebruik wordt voor warfarine behandeling, de
parameters betreffende indirecte kosten en alle variabelen die te maken hebben met de INR monitoring (jaarlijks aantal controles voor VKA, de geassocieerde reiskosten, de kosten per bezoek).
De kosteneffectiviteitsanalyse van de aanvrager kent echter een tekortkoming:
• De aanvrager had in het model ook moeten kijken naar een tweedelijnsbehandeling zoals een switch van VKA naar rivaroxaban of omgekeerd.
De CFH concludeert dat de doelmatigheid van rivaroxaban bij de behandeling van DVT en preventie van recidieve DVT en PE voldoende is onderbouwd.
