Zoals in de inleiding werd aangegeven zou de samenleving inderdaad gebaat kunnen zijn wanneer nieuwsredacties vaker impliciete beelden gebruiken. Het lijkt bijzonder van

belang gewelddadige beelden in de media te reduceren. Dit onderzoek biedt voor

televisienieuws in ieder geval een mogelijke oplossing: Gebruik impliciete gewelddadige

televisienieuwsbeelden in plaats van expliciete gewelddadige televisienieuwsbeelden. De titel

“Zien of Inbeelden?” is de vraag die in de titel werd gesteld. Het antwoord dat nu kan worden

gegeven is; het inbeelden in plaats van zien van geweld.
