word.

• Indien nodig, herkodeer bestaande data.

ti GEDEELTE VAN N TRANSKRIPSIE VAN N ONDERHOUD

R: What is your experience, as nurse, of the multi-skill setup that you are working in?

P: Mm Okay... Like for now me, as we are working here, we are fine, but actually we are like working under scope of practice and then sometimes we work too much hard work...

R: Mm-mm.

P: So, it's like when you work, urn, I don't know how to say... Okay, You want to know how do I experience it, actually?

R: Yes, anything that you feel and what you think with regards to such a hospital. Like this hospital where you are working...

P: The hospital it's fine but, mm, sometimes especially to us, it's not fair because we are working for long here and then we don't have permanent which is bad for us because now I'm working, I don't know where I'm working. It's just like going to work, coming back, and it's bad, because we're actually desperate.

R: So you feel that you are not secure in terms of a permanent post and that it is not fair towards you as you've been working here for a long time..

P: Yes, it's not fair...

R: Okay, tell me, you've mentioned about working outside of your scope of practice and doing a lot of work. Can you tell me more about that?

P: Ya, we are working like inserting the catheters,

P: and inserting the drips. Sometimes we are, we are scared because you insert the drip and then the, the patients get hurt then the who, the person is going to say it's me...

R: Mm-mm.

P: They said so. I don't think they will say... They will say, "Okay, it's mm..we are working under the outside the scope of practice because now you've inserted the drip. Why did you do it?

R: Mm.

P: They will call me for that.

R: You feel that you will be held responsible for what you've done...

P: Mm. But, sometimes it's fine, because you know a lot of things. You learn. It's fine for that, but you just scared for that because if the patients get hurt or

something... But, it's fine. We are learning and it's like most of the things, it's fine.

R: Anything else that you can tell me about?

P: Mm...

R: Anything that you can think of about regarding your experience of this multi-skill setup, this hospital?

P". I can just maybe say, it's fine to work here, but sometimes it's hard... You know, you work in the ward and then in casualties as well. You have to work hard to get the work, to finish the work.

R: Mm.

P: And it's a lot of work. And they expect you to work in the ward. While you are busy maybe doing your work, they can call you "come, come, there's a patient in casualties." It's not easy...

R: You say, you have to work in the ward and in the casualties. You say that it is difficult for you...

P: It's difficult, because you are one nurse and there are many things to do at one time. You have to rush to complete all your work...

R: And how does it make you feel. Like, when you have to rush, like you said, to be able to finish all your duties. How does it make you feel?

P: You know, you feel like, how can I say, you feel mm, stressed and tired and sometimes you get confused... They call you here... No, it's difficult sometimes. But ah, you learn a lot...

R: So, you say that you have to work in the ward and in casualties and that you sometimes feel stressed and, you also said like, you are.... Confused at times.

P: Mm. Confused because they call you now and then and while you are busy doing something.

R: So, basically, the main things for you, is a permanent post and then working outside of your scope of practice and the workload.

P: Mm-mm.

R: Can you tell me a little bit more about the workload that's hard for you you said earlier?

P: Mm... Sometimes we are helping each other, like you find like if there's something that I can't do, I ask the sister, "Sister, can you help me with this?" Then they come and help.

R: So, you ask for support, and you support each other.

P: Yeah.

R: And, something else that you maybe use? ...as coping mechanisms.... To cope?
