This option allows you to adjust the following:

• Alert type: Determine whether the phone must emit a call tone, must vibrate or both.

• Ring type: Determine whether the call tone must sound once, must be repeated or must start at a low volume and in-crease in volume until answered.

• Ringtone: Determine which call tone must be emitted for incoming calls.

• Ringtone volume: Determine how loud the call tone must be.

• Message: Determine which notification tone must be emitted for incoming text messages.

• Message volume: Determine how loud the message tone must be.

• Keypad: Use this option to determine whether a click sound or a key tone must be emitted when pressing buttons. You can also have the phone announce the numeric buttons when pressed or you can mute the button tones entirely.

• Keytone volume: Determine how loud the button tones must be.

• System alert: Enable or disable system tones.

9 CALLS

Information about recent calls is

automatically saved in the phone (received, dialled and missed calls).

9.2 Open call log

Missed Calls will show all calls you’ve missed.

When you’ve missed a call and you’ve not yet checked it in this overview, the standby screen will display a missed call icon.

Under ‘Outgoing’ you’ll find all outgoing calls, under ‘Received’ all received calls are saved and under ‘All calls’ all different call types are saved together (Missed, Outgo-ing and Received).

Use the [Options] soft-button to perfom var-ious actions for the items mentioned above:

• View: View the details of the call

• Call: Call the contact of this message

• Send SMS: Start a new SMS, with the contact of this message automatically entered as the recipient

• Add to M1-M2: Copy this contact to M1 or M2

• Edit before call: To edit the number of this contact.

• Delete: To remove the selected call from the call log

10.2 Time and date

Use this menu to set the current time and date and to determine in which format these must be displayed.

10.3 Display

Use this option to set the display (back-ground) of the phone, the screen illumina-tion and the brightness.

10.4 Phone

Here you can determine the menu lan-guage, set the SOS button (see 10.3-2) and program the M1 and M2 buttons.

10.5 SOS button

In the menu ‘SOS key’, you can select the

‘Phone’ option to customize the SOS func-tion, to adjust the SOS text message and to program up to 5 numbers that must be dialled when the SOS function is activated.

You can also set a list of favourite numbers.

Settings: To enable or disable the SOS function. By disabling this function when not being used prevents activating the function by accident. Here’ll you’ll find the current status and you can use the [*] or [#]

soft-button to change it.

Numbers: Press ‘Edit’ [linker softkey] to

lect one of the five numbers and press ‘Edit’

again to adjust this number.

Siren: Use this option to enable or disable the alarm tone. This alarm sound can alert people around you in case of an emergency.

Call delay: Determine how long it must take before the first SOS number is dialled.

Send SMS: Use this option to enable or disable sending SMS messages to the SOS call list.

SMS: Edit the SMS message to be send in case of emergencies.

Hint: Add the emergency number (112) to your alarm list as number five. This way, when the other four numbers cannot be reached, you can always receive the re-quired help.

When calling anonymously, add your phone number to the SMS.

SOS operation: In case of an emergency, press and hold the SOS button for 3 sec-onds. Pay attention not to press this button by accident. Press the Power/End button to cancel the SOS mode.

SOS operating principle: When you activate the alarm mode, the following will happen:

1. An ambulance siren sounds to alert the people around you.

2. While the ambulance tone sounds, the text message (SMS) will be send to all numbers programmed under ‘SOS num-bers’.

3. The first number is dialled.

A: When the call is answered:

- Direct hands-free call through the speaker.

B. In case of no answer:

- The connection is interrupted after a status message or after the voice message and the test message (SMS) is send.

4. The second (up to the fifth) number will be dialled, provided these numbers are preset.

5. The entire process will be repeated start-ing with step 3.

Keep in mind that you can cancel the SOS mode at any time be pushing the power/

end button.

Your dialled contacts can remotely cancel the SOS mode at any time by pressing the

‘0’ button during the call.

10.6 Call

Send number: Determine whether your number must be send when calling

somebody. By turning off Caller-ID, you can call anonymously.

Call waiting: Determine whether you allow a second call to be received while already in a call. You can answer this call be switching conversations and you can

also merge the call with your current call (conference).

Call forwarding: Determine in which situations incoming calls must be

automatically forwarded to voicemail or to a different number.

Call barring: Determine in which situations both outgoing and incoming calls must not be allowed.

Call duration reminder: Determine whether a reminder tone must be emitted after a certain time having a conversation.

Automatic re-dial: Determine whether a new call must be started automatically when a call has failed.

Answer mode: Determine whether

incoming calls can be answered using only the call button or any random button.

10.7 Network

Determine whether the network must be searched for automatically or the network you want to log into must be chosen manually.

10.8 Security

Determine whether the phone must request codes to prevent unauthorised use. You can also customize these codes.

SIM lock / PIN:

The SIM lock (or PIN) is a code protecting your SIM card against unauthorised use.

When asked for the PIN code and you don’t know it, you can find it in the docu-mentation accompanying your SIM card.

PIN2:

PIN2 is a code for locking the advanced functions (such as internet).

This allows you to grant somebody access to the call function, but not to e.g. internet or WAP.

PUK:

After you enter the wrong PIN code three times, you’ll need to enter the PUK code.

This code can usually also be found in the documentation of your SIM card.

Phone code / password:

In addition to securing the SIM card, you can also lock the phone itself with a code, preventing anybody from viewing your phone’s information by using a different SIM card.

The default phone password is ‘1122’

10.9 Reset factory settings

After entering the phone code, you can use this option to reset all personal settings to the original (standard) factory settings.

Contacts, message and other saved con-tent will remain.

11 TOOLS

Here you’ll find various useful functions in-cluding a calculator, calendar, alarm clock, to-do-list, unit converter, currency converter and stopwatch.

11.2 Calendar

With this function, you always have a cal-endar handy. Use the up and down button to scroll days. Use the [Options] M1 button to view and add more details, press the M2 button to go [Back]:

• View: View the selected day and any inserted tasks.

• View all: View all inserted tasks.

• Add event: Add a new task to the list.

• Delete event: To delete the selected task.

• Go to date: Use the keypad or the up/

down button to enter which date must be displayed.

• Go to today: Shows the date of today.

• Go to weekly view: Shows the weekly view.

11.3 Alarm clock

You can use this function to set up to five alarm times. You can choose to have the alarm sound once or daily and you can also setup the snooze mode and set the alarm.

11.4 Calculator

With this function, you always have a calculator handy. Use the keypad to enter a number and use the direction buttons to choose between subtracting, adding, dividing and multiplying. Use # to insert decimals and press the [OK] soft-button for the result.

12 RADIO

Use this function to listen to FM radio stations.

Use the # and buttons to search for the next radio station. Use the up and down buttons to change the reception frequen-cy. Use the + and – buttons at the side to increase or decrease the radio volume.

When channels are already set, you can select these directly using the correspond-ing numeric button.

Press the [Options] soft-button for more options:

Channel list: To save your favourite radio stations in a list. Radio stations assigned to locations 1-9 can be selected directly by pressing the numeric buttons.

Manual input: To set a frequency using the keypad.

Auto search: This allows you to have the phone save all frequencies receiving a radio signal in the channel list.

13 EXTRAS

In addition to all the functions available in the menu, the phone offers various other functions.

13.1 Flashlight

Use the switch at the side of the phone to turn the flashlight on or off. The flash-light will also function when your phone is switched off.

13.2 Remote settings

You can also use SMS messages from a different phone to program memories for the phonebook, SOS or M1/M2 in this phone.

Add contacts:

Send the following SMS message:

Attention: if the phonebook memory is full, you can no longer add any contacts. If the name already exists, the number will not be saved.

Use the code AT+M1 or AT+M2 (instead of AT+P) to program M1 or M2. The pre-vious memory will be replaced.

Use the code AT+S to set a SOS memo-ry. If the memory is full, the oldest mem-ory will be replaced.
