6.5 Aanbevelingen
Op basis van deze verkennende studie doen wij de volgende aanbevelingen voor interventie-ontwikkelaars en beleidsmedewerkers in het jeugdbeleid van Amsterdam:
• De focus op de algemene opvoedstijl, zoals emotionele ondersteuning en structuur, zijn een toegevoegde waarde voor interventies. Triple P Lifestyle richt zich op de algemene opvoedstijl binnen een gezin en zou op dit gebied een voorbeeld kunnen zijn voor andere interventies. Er is meer onderzoek nodig naar de effecten van dit soort interventies op zowel de opvoeding als een gezonde leefstijl.
• De focus op culturele aanpassingen van interventies is een belangrijk en nog relatief jong terrein. Er zijn aanwijzingen dat cultureel aangepaste interventies beter de doelgroep bereiken, gezinsleden meer betrekken en daarmee een grotere kans hebben op positieve resultaten. Het raamwerk uit deze studie kan worden toegepast om interventies zowel bij de ontwikkeling als uitvoering en evaluatie cultuursensitief te maken.
Op basis van deze verkennende studie doen wij de volgende aanbevelingen voor vervolgonderzoek en voor de bacheloropleidingen (Pedagogiek, Pabo, Voeding & Diëtiek, en de ALO) van de Hogeschool van Amsterdam:
• Opvoeding & leefstijl gaan hand in hand: Lessen waarin beide expertises samenkomen hebben een toegevoegde waarde voor studenten. Bij Voeding & Diëtiek wordt deze link al gelegd, bij de Pedagogiek-opleiding zou het een meerwaarde zijn om bijvoorbeeld gastcolleges te
organiseren over dit onderwerp en juist de ‘tegenpool’ uit te nodigen: bij pedagogiek en pabo een diëtist of beweegdeskundige als gastspreker, bij Voeding en Diëtiek een pedagoog. Het is handig als de gastspreker expert is in het eigen vakgebied maar daarnaast ook globale kennis heeft van het andere vakgebied.
• Samenwerking tussen pedagogen en voedingsprofessionals (zoals diëtisten) heeft een
meerwaarde: interventies richten zich op beide aspecten. Het is nuttig om pedagogiekstudenten en studenten van voeding en diëtiek al met elkaar kennis te laten maken tijdens de opleiding, bijvoorbeeld in een minor of bij onderzoeksopdrachten.
• Cultuursensitief werken zit in alle fasen van de interventiecyclus; in de ontwikkeling (materialen, doelen), bij de implementatie (stakeholders doelgroep), bij de uitvoering (training, werving), en evaluatie (vragenlijsten, interviews). Studenten kunnen in hun onderzoek de focus leggen op cultuursensitief werken en daarbij het toegepaste raamwerk gebruiken.
