De vier indicatorsoorten moeten gebruikt worden bij het monitoren van de populatie haaien en roggen op het Nederlands continentaal plat. Het model is een nuttige tool en dient bijgewerkt te worden wanneer er nieuwe kennis beschikbaar is. Mocht dit nodig zijn dan kunnen zelfs criteria en kenmerken toegevoegd worden aan het model zodat het een beter beeld geeft van de realiteit. Het is heel belangrijk om financiën beschikbaar te stellen voor het testen en monitoren van deze indicatorsoorten. Dit onderzoek is enkel de eerste stap in de weg naar een oplossing voor dit vraagstuk. Probeer de monitoring van de indicatorsoorten te verbeteren en specifiek op de indicatorsoorten af te stemmen.
