Appendix: Interview setup

Questions for Managers in the Sports Wear Industry

In order to point out the structure of the European sports wear industry the following questions have been developed for managers of sports wear companies in Europe. Most of the questions will be open questions.

By answering these questions and comparing the answers of the different managers I will be able to point out the present structure of the value chain and the developments within the industry. My findings will be presented in a thesis in which no source, individual or organizational, will be identified at any time. This thesis will not become public to make sure that all the information will stay confidential.

Hopefully you will be able to help me by answering the following questions.

1. Can you tell me something about the history of the company and your function within the company? (Organization Chart if possible)

2. Can you point out what kind of collection(s) your company is developing?

3. What kind of end consumers does your company sell to? Have there been any changes in customer profiles in the past?

4. By which channel(s) do you try to reach these customers? Can you describe the different parties in the channel(s)? ( Representatives, own sales organization , retail, internet)

5. What are in your opinion important selection criteria for finding the right partners in the channel?

6. What kind of different garments are included in your collection(s)? (Product Portfolio)
