the author
Paul groeide op in Groningen. Hij studeerde Sociale Geografie en Planologie aan de Faculteit Ruimtelijke Wetenschappen, Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, en bracht een semester door aan de École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture in Versailles, Frankrijk. Hij gaf vervolg aan zijn bachelor met een onderzoeksmaster aan dezelfde Groninger faculteit, en verbleef onder meer een half jaar aan de Universiteit van Florida, waar hij een scriptie schreef over fietsforensen. Tussen september 2014 en december 2017 werkte hij aan dit promotieonderzoek, wederom aan de Faculteit
Ruimtelijke Wetenschappen. Hoewel er niets boven Groningen gaat, heeft hij zich inmiddels van deze stad losgeweekt en woont hij in Utrecht, waar hij werkt als adviseur in het transport en mobiliteitsdomein.
Paul grew up in Groningen, the Netherlands. He studied Human Geography and Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Groningen, including a semester at the École Nationale Superieure d’Architecture in Versailles, France. After completing his bachelor’s degree, he pursued a research master degree in Groningen, and wrote his thesis on bicycle commuting while at the University of Florida as a short-term visiting scholar. He worked on this PhD research from September 2014 to December 2017. He currently lives in Utrecht, where he works as a mobility and transport consultant.
