Biography of the author

Justyna Wróblewska was born on February 25th, 1987 in Racibórz, Poland. After finishing high school, she started studying Biotechnology at the University of Wrocław, Poland. In 2013 she earned her Master’s degree by defending a thesis entitled: Coordination of the nuclear and

mitochondrial genomes expression in A. thaliana. During her studies she spent five months of internship at the laboratory of Prof. Dr. Jesús de la Cruz (University of Seville, Spain), where she participated in research focused on biogenesis of the ribosomal subunits in S. cerevisiae. She moved to the Netherlands in 2013, upon being admitted to the Marie Curie ITN-PerFuMe program at the University of Groningen. She started her PhD studies in the group of Prof. Dr. Ida J. van der Klei at the Department of Molecular Cell Biology. The results of her research are described in this thesis. Currently, Justyna works in a biotechnology company - Pure Biologics S.A., where she is involved in projects employing aptamers as potential therapeutic molecules.

Vac8 is a vacuole membrane protein in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, which functions in vacuole inheritance, the formation of nucleus-vacuole-junctions (NVJs), the cytoplasm to vacuole

Our results indicate that blocking peroxisomal fission and inheritance simultaneously (in H. polymorpha pex11 inp2 mutant cells), results in the formation of yeast buds devoid of any

Although de novo biogenesis of peroxisomes is an attractive model for cells temporarily devoid of these organelles, growth and fission is the prevailing mode of peroxisome formation

Ondanks dat de novo peroxisoombiogenese een aantrekkelijk model is voor cellen die tijdelijk deze organellen niet hebben, is groei en deling waarschijnlijk de meest voorkomende

H. polymorpha pex11 inp2 mutant cells), results in the formation of yeast buds devoid of any peroxisomal structure, in which new peroxisomes most likely form de novo.. This process

Elucidating the mechanisms of Pex3-independent peroxisomal membrane protein targeting is necessary to understand the formation of pre-peroxisomal vesicles and peroxisomes (Chapter

Unfortunately, no FtsQ protein synthesis was observed after phosphorimaging, Insertion data of CorA showed no significant increase in insertion into SecYEG and/or
