Curriculum vitae
Panitee Suksomboon was born on the 30th of August 1976 in Singburi, Thailand. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Anthropology with the first-class honour from Thammasat University, Bangkok, Thailand in 1998 and her Master’s Degree in Sociology from the same university in 2002. She was also appointed as a lecturer in 1999 and had worked at Faculty of Sociology and Anthropology, Thammasat University until 2002. In August 2002, she was granted a scholarship by the Civil Service Commission, the Royal Thai Government, to pursue her second Master’s study at International School for Humanities and Social Sciences (ISHSS), University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands. She obtained her Master’s Degree in Social Sciences from this university in January 2004. She continued her PhD study in July 2004 at the Research School of Asian, African and Amerindian Studies (CNWS), Leiden University with a scholarship provided by the Civil Service Commission, The Royal Thai Government. Her research focuses on cross-cultural marriage and families of Thai migrant women in the Netherlands. After her graduation, she will return to Thailand and continue her academic career at Faculty of Sociology and Anthropology, Thammasat University.
