Ross King completed his BA in linguistics and political science at Yale in 1983, then his MA (1985) and Ph. D (1991) in linguistics at Harvard. Currently he is professor of Korean and Head of Department in the Department of Asian Studies, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada.

Jaehoon Yeon is Professor of Korean Language and Linguistics and a member of the Centre of Korean Studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. He is the author of many books for Korean language learners.

Chungsook Kim completed her BA in Korean language and linguistics at Korea University in 1984 and subsequently earned her MA (1986) and Ph. D (1992) from the same institution. Currently, she serves as associate professor in Korea University’s Institute of Foreign Language Studies.

Donald Baker completed his Ph. D in Korean history in 1987 at the University of Washington. As a specialist in late Choso˘n history, thought, and religion, he deals with Sino-Korean on a daily basis.
