ORGANISATION OF THE NATIONAL MUSEUM
Die Nasionale Museum* is een van 22 Verklaarde Kulturele Instellings wat onder die Departement Nasionale Opvoeding ressorteer en word deur 'n Raad beheer. Die Museum is 'n natuurhistoriese kultuurhistoriese en kunsmuseum wat op sistematiese en selektiewe wyse voorbeelde sowel as inligting versamel met betrekking tot hierdie vakrigtings oor die hele spektrum van die voorgeskiedenis tot die hede. Die taak van die Museum is om sodanige voorbeelde, versamelings en inligting te dokumenteer, beveilig, bewaar, konserveer, restoureer, ontsluit, bestudeer en bekend te stel.
The National Museum* is qne of 22 Declared Cultural Institutions which resorts under the Department of National Education and is governed by a Council. Thej Museum is a natural history, cultural history and art museum which systematically and selectively collects examples, and information relevant to these fields over the whole spectrum of prehistory up to the present. It is its task to document, preserve, conserve, restore, make available, study and to promote such items, specimens, examples, collections and information.
