CURRICULUM VITAE
Edward Norbert van den Brink werd op 18 juli 1973 te Alkmaar geboren. In 1991 behaalde hij zijn diploma atheneum B aan het Augustinus College te Beverwijk. In dat zelfde jaar werd begonnen met de studie Medische Biologie aan de Vrije Universiteit te Amsterdam. Tijdens deze studie liep hij zijn onderzoeksstages bij de afdeling Dermatologie van het Academisch Ziekenhuis van de Vrije Universiteit (onder leiding van Dr. D.M. Boorsma) en de afdeling Bloedstolling van het CLB (onder leiding van Dr. J. Voorberg). Het doctoraal examen met als bijvakken Biochemie en Oncologie werd behaald in september 1995. Aansluitend aan zijn studie heeft hij vanaf oktober 1995 als assistent in opleiding in dienst van de Universiteit van Amsterdam gewerkt op de afdeling Bloedstolling/Plasma-eiwitten van het CLB bij Dr. J. Voorberg. In juni 1999, heeft hij voor een deel van het onderzoek dat beschreven is in dit proefschrift de CLB-AIO jaarprijs 1999 ontvangen. Met steun van de Stichting Haemophilia en het Academisch Medisch Centrum heeft hij in het voorjaar van 2000 gewerkt bij het American Red Cross, Immunology Department, Holland Laboratory, Rockville, MD, USA onder leiding van Dr. D. Scandella. Vanaf 1 juli 2000 is hij werkzaam als postdoc bij Crucell.
