Summary
Acknowledgments
First, I would like to thank my supervisor Dr. Sander Hille. Without long hours of conversations and effort you put into my PhD project this thesis would never come to life. Second I would like to thank Prof. Dr. Tomasz Szarek, who recommended me for this position. And who, as co-author, by his expertise and passion for the topic, was a source of many inspiring results. My thanks go to my promotor Prof. Dr. Arjen Doelman for bringing the Analysis Group together. I would also like to thank my office mates Eric, Lotte, Bjorn, Corine, Leonardo and Claudiu. From among the staff I would like to thank Martina and Hermen-Jan for all the supportive discussions.
Finally I would like to thank the people closest to me. My parents, sisters and grandma for always believing in me. Iza and Pawel, who stayed there for me even though I moved far away. My parents-in-law, Eric and Pinar for becoming my family. And finally, Jos and Julian. I didn’t know you before moving to The Netherlands but now I cannot imagine life without the two of you.
