Curriculum Vitae
Xingfu Xu was born on the 15th of Oct 1975 in Daye, China. He did his undergraduate study and his first M.Sc. degree in the Department of Microbiology of Central China Agricultural University. He graduated with M.Sc. in July 2000 and went to Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences in Beijing to work as a short-term research assistant. In July 2001, he obtained a research scholarship from National University of Singapore where he worked on a project about structure determination of a virulence factor from Salmonella typhi by multi-dimensional NMR. He obtained his second M.Sc. degree in
January 2004. Since March 2004, he has been working as a PhD student of Leiden Institute of Chemistry under the supervision of Dr. M. Ubbink in protein chemistry group formerly headed by Prof. G.W. Canters. His research project is the transient interactions of iron-sulfur proteins studied by paramagnetic NMR spectroscopy. Part of the work described in this thesis was presented on the 3rd Asian bioinorganic chemistry conference, FEBS transient workshop and Dutch annual meeting of protein discussion group.
