Suey Shuk Yu Yeung

Suey S.Y. Yeung was born in Hong Kong. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutritional Sciences at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong in 2009. After that, she obtained her master’s degree in Nutrition & Dietetics at the University of Wollongong, NSW, Australia in 2012. Since then, Suey is an Accredited Practising Dietitian of the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA). In the same year, she received an award of the best novice research poster during the International Congress of Dietetics in Sydney, Australia. After obtaining her master’s degree, she worked as a dietitian at various nursing homes to provide dietary advice to the older adults and their caregivers. She also participated in various nutrition-related research studies and health promotion projects at the School of Nursing, of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and at the Department of Medicine & Therapeutics, of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. In October 2016, she was awarded a 3-year PhD studentship by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovative program under the Marie-Sklodowska-Curie grant to pursue her PhD at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, the Netherlands. During her PhD, she had the opportunity to participate in various projects at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and the University of Melbourne, Australia for 18 months. In 2017, Suey received the ESPEN Travel Fellowship and was invited to present her research at the 39th

ESPEN Congress in the Hague, the Netherlands. Currently, she is working as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Department of Medicine & Therapeutics of the Chinese University of Hong Kong and she is planning to pursue a career as a researcher combined with the dietetic profession.
