Curriculum Vitae

Johannes Paul (Hans) Vollaard was born on April 16th, 1977 in

Amersfoort in the Netherlands. He studied political science at Leiden University in the Netherlands, between 1995 and 1999. In 2000, he was awarded the departmental thesis award and received an honourable mention to the Faculty of Social Sciences thesis award for his MA thesis on political territoriality. He received a scholarship for preparing a PhD project for the academic year 1999/2000 from the Department of Political Science. After pursuing a PhD as a part-time candidate, he obtained a position as assistant professor in the same department beginning in 2007.

Between 2001 and 2007, he also worked as junior lecturer and coordinator of the EU studies program in the Faculty of Arts. He has published on subjects such as political territoriality, Protestantism, Euroscepticism in the Netherlands and the resilience of the EU.
