And thanks for the great surprise when I left the lab, I was really surprised with your great artistic creativity and the different points of view you had of my small and often misadventures hehe. Curriculum Vitae

Susana was born on the 12th of January 1983, in

Viana do Castelo, Portugal. In 2007 she obtained a degree in Applied Biology from the Minho University in Braga. During this time she performed her final internship, through the Erasmus programme, with Dr. Dick Peters at the Laboratory of Virology at the Wageningen University. She returned then to Portugal and obtained a Master in Plant Molecular Physiology from Minho and Porto Universities in 2009. During her thesis she worked in the group of Prof. José Pissarra and Prof. Susana Pereira supervised by Dr. Diana Soares da Costa and Dr. Cláudia Queirós Pereira in the Biology Department of Porto University. In 2010, she received a Leonardo da Vinci fellowship to continue a collaboration project with the group of Dr. Béatrice Satiat-Jeunemaitre at the former Institut des Sciences du Végétal, CNRS at Gif-sur-Yvette, France. She was then hired as Research Assistant in the same research group. In 2012 Susana joined the group of Prof. Fulvio Reggiori, as PhD student, at UMCU, Utrecht University and later on at the UMCG, Groningen University. The results of her work are described in this thesis. In 2016 she returned to Utrecht and joined the group of Prof. Daniele Guardavaccaro at the Hubrecht Institute, Utrecht, where she worked as Research Assistant. Later, fearless of the Brexit, Susana moved to United Kingdom where in 2018 she joined the group of Prof. Stefan Marciniak at the CIMR in Cambridge as Research Assistant.
