1. Dried Blood Spot sampling is net als leren fietsen, het maakt niet uit op welke fiets, zolang er maar iemand is die het je goed leert (dit proefschrift).

2. Bij een validatie studie met gepaarde veneuze bloed samples en Dried Blood Spot vingerprik samples zijn de multidisciplinair vastgestelde limits for clinical acceptance belangrijker dan de resultaten van de Bland-Altman en Passing-Bablok analyse (dit proefschrift).

3. Het hematocriet effect op extractie recovery is irrelevant indien er een succesvolle klinische validatie studie is uitgevoerd (dit proefschrift).

4. De implementatie van Dried Blood Spot sampling voor transplantatie patiënten thuis is alleen mogelijk als zowel patiënt als behandelaar accepteert dat er in 20% van de gevallen geen uitslag is van de DBS analyse tijdens het polibezoek (dit proefschrift).

5. Dried Blood Spot sampling voor Therapeutic Drug Monitoring mag niet worden toegepast in routine patiëntenzorg als er geen externe kwaliteitscontrole zoals ringonderzoek is (dit proefschrift).

6. Alleen multi-analiet Dried Blood Spot analyses waarbij zowel biochemische, farmacologische en microbiologische waarden gemeten kunnen worden in één bloedspot, kunnen de veneuze bloedafname geheel of gedeeltelijk vervangen bij poliklinische transplantatiepatiënten (dit proefschrift).

7. Transplantatiepatiënten zijn sterk gemotiveerd om thuis Dried Blood Spot samples af te nemen indien dit ertoe leidt dat ze minder vaak naar de polikliniek hoeven (dit proefschrift).
