Michiel A. Heldeweg is Professor of Public Governance Law at the Department of Legal & Economic Governance Studies, University of Twente, the Netherlands. In addition to this he is an Honorary Judge for the District Court of Almelo, the Netherlands, Administrative Law Division. His research inter-ests focus on regulation and innovation with special attention paid to hybrid regulation, legal design methodology and the field of Environmental and Energy Law.
Evisa Kica is a PhD candidate at the Department of Legal & Economic Governance Studies, University of Twente, the Netherlands. The PhD project is part of the NanoNextNL program, and focuses on the legitimacy of the standardisation process related to the field of nanotechnology. She is also involved in the project 'Study on the Quality of the Patent System in Europe' commissioned by Politecnico di Torino, with the European Commission, DG MARKT, as the ultimate funding authority.
