We thenwent for the

_place

and what_an

_experience!

The

holewas 6 times

bigger

than in

_{Heist-op-den-Berg}

and

very rauch richer in fossils. Itwas

really

a

pleasure

tosee.

Sten

_(and

his

_team)

fromFredericia

_(he

owns a museum

there,

that is indeed worth

seeing!)

had madea

big

and very

expensive

sieve and had rentedapump,sothe

equip-ment_was in best order forus. He allowedus

kindly

to

take_partin the

_big

_{sieve many times and}asthe waterflow

wasrather

gentle,

mostof the fossils_weresecured in

per-fect conditions.Infact the

only

limitwaswhat wecould

hold in thecar

(and

thatwasa

problem,

because the mate-rial was

wet).

Everything

was

_{just fme, except}

for the

fact,

that

_Birgitte

had

_pneumonia

all the

_time,

and for thatreasonwehadto

gobacktoDenmark before

planned.

But

part

of suchanevent is also

meeting

other

_collectors,

just

as crazy asourselves and we

spoke

andmet many

interesting people, people,

with whom_we are

going

to

keep

in contact with in the future. In fact Herbert &Ellen

Moths

_(whom

weknewin

_advance)

have

_{already paid}

us a

visit,

and

together

wehave been

_looking

atsomeof the

better

_specimens

from the Miste

_trip.

Now wethink that

_everybody

has todoa lot of

_washing

and

cleaning,

drying

and

_sorting

outall the fossils from theresidue. And best of all:

_put

names onthe

species.

To

us, that is themost

interesting part

of

_collecting,

andwe

have

_already

identified

_{everything bigger}

thanca. 5 mm

(nearly

300

species

found

by now).

Butthereisalotmore

material

_containing

the smaller and

just

as

interesting

spe-cies.

And then it is

_always

_a

_pleasure

toteil about the

_findings

afterwards. Sowe haveto teil you,that wehavefound

Heist-op-den-Berg.

Other collectors have found the

as

well. Also _oneLimatula sulcata

_(Brown)

_{was present}in

the smaller material.

To

knowing

does not thinkthatNatica

_tigrina

and Natica

hoernesicanbe

_separated

astwo

species. That,

we

think,

could_easesome headaches!

experience

for

life,

verywell

organised (and

the weatherwasnice

_too!)

and if

there is ever tobe another

_digging

at

_Miste,

we will be

there!

During

the winterrumours

spread:

“There is

going

tobea

digging

in Miste.” At once ourattentionwas awakened.

We did havesomeverynice fossils inourcollection from

that

_{place (a gift}

fromavery generous

collector),

andwe

very much would like to find

something ourselves,

but when_we

_spoke

with other collectors

_they

all toldus, that

Miste_{was over.}No new

diggings

were tobedonehere.

Butsome months later itwasa

reality,

andwe werevery

optimistic

and talkedtoother Danes about the

_possibility

and_{soon we} weretobealittle group of Danes

going

to

the event.

Therewere, in fact fourdifferentteamsof

collectors,

but

as one ofus had renteda

bungalow

-

belonging

tothe

camping-site

-

big enough

for all of_us,wesoon decided
