Opp het eind van dit werk wil ik graag iedereen bedanken voor zijn/haar bijdrage aan dit proefschrift. Tochh wil ik een paar mensen met name noemen, die een belangrijke rol hebben gespeeld in de totstandkomingg van dit proefschrift.
Mynn tank giet ut nei Heinz Graafsma, myn co-promotor, foar syn goede begelieding, stipe, diskusjess en it neisjen fan myn hanskrift. No moat ik sels mar wurkje oan myn Fryske wurdskat. It skiënn en wyndrinke komt faeks letter noch wol, Heinz!
Ikk bedank Henk Schenk om als promotor op te treden en voor de nuttige discussies die we samen gevoerdd hebben.

Ikk ben Sjors "Sinterklaas/T is jouw feestje!" Scheres zeer erkentelijk voor zijn bijdrage aan de analysee van het multi-layer experiment, dat beschreven staat in dit proefschrift. Uiteindelijk heeft hijj mij toch zover gekregen om samen de Chamrousse omhoog te fietsen.
Verderr wil ik Sikko "Mag ik meehelpen verhuizen?" van Reeuwijk bedanken voor zijn collegiale hulpp bij de uitvoering en analyse van het DKDP-experiment zoals beschreven in dit proefschrift. Ikk wil René Peschar bedanken voor de discussies en nuttige suggesties voor, tijdens en na het corrigerenn van de vele versies van mijn proefschrift.
Furthermoree I am indebted to Ann Terry for dotting the i's and being very precisely to do so. It was quitee a lot of work.
II would like to thank prof, dr C. Lecomte and prof, dr Niels Hansen for my visit of two weeks at the Universitéé Henri Poincaré in Nancy, France, where I learned more about structure refinement strategies.. My stay was very interesting and fruitful.

Many thanks to Jean-Michel Reynal for solving alll the technical problems and Wolfgang Reichenbach who developed the bender set-up. And Gavin, I am not so sure about your Microsoftt conspiracy theory nor that the automatic diaper-changer will appear within a few years. Ookk in Amsterdam, waar ik het laatste jaar van mijn promotietijd heb doorgebracht, heb ik van alle kantenn de nodige hulp ontvangen. Ik wil Eva Dova, Ineke Baars, Kees Goubitz, Kees van Malssen, Arjenn van Langevelde, Joris Dik en René Driessen hartelijk danken voor de gezellige sfeer op het labb en de gevoerde discussies.
Ichh möchte meinen Dank aussprechen an Ulf Kleuker für sein Interesse an meine Arbeit und für die vielenn Diskussionen. Wir haben zusammen viel gelernt in den ersten zwei Jahren im "Rotierenden Anodee Laboratorium". So wie du schon selber sagtest: "Understanding X-ray physics the hard way".. Mett Peter "Een emmertje roken?" Zwart heb ik op 't ESRF en op de UVA heel plezierig samengewerktt en geestverruimende gesprekken gevoerd.
Somss was het net alsof het ESRF zich op Nederlandse bodem bevond wanneer, naar mijn gevoel, de gehelee polymeer groep van de Technische Universiteit Eindhoven zijn opwachting maakte op ID11. Err heerste altijd een gezellige sfeer met Tosca-"'San", Lada-"San", Han-"San" en Sanjay-"San" en bovendienn leerde ik veel nieuwe zaken betreffende polymeren.
Oochh wil iech mieng ouwesj en der Lucien en ut Marjon bedanke vuur hunne sjteun en belangsjtelling. .
