1. Het hele veld heeft er baat bij, als dankzij een nieuw gereedschap theoretische ex-perimenten herhaalbaar gemaakt worden (dit proefschrift, hoofdstuk 2)

2. Dat de fout, die gemaakt wordt in een fylogenetische analyse, gekwantificeerd kan worden, is een eerste stap om onnodig complexe soortvormingsmodellen te ver-werpen (dit proefschrift, hoofdstuk 3)

3. Je kunt een Yule soortvormingsproces gebruiken voor bomen die in werkelijkheid het BD proces volgen, als enkel DNA volgorden van de soorten die in het nu leven worden gebruikt (dit proefschrift, hoofdstuk 3, figuur 3.15)
