On the next few pages you are asked questions and are presented with statements that relate to you or your work situation. You are supposed to choose the answer that best suits the situation in which you carry out your daily work. Completing the survey takes approximately 10 minutes. Please try to answer all 13 questions.

Your participation is anonymous and results will be used to enhance the benefits of cultural diversity within organization X and for quantitative academic research purposes. Please keep in mind that - there are no right or wrong answers; - only your OWN opinion is important.

Cultural Intelligence

The following 8 statements refer to cultural interaction. Read each statement and select the response that applies to you the most ranging from 1 ("Strongly disagree") to 7 ("Strongly agree").

1. I am conscious of the cultural knowledge I use when interacting with people with different cultural backgrounds.

2. I adjust my cultural knowledge as I interact with people from a culture that is unfamiliar to me.

3. I know the cultural values and religious beliefs of other cultures.

4. I know the rules for expressing nonverbal behaviors in other cultures.

Perceived Proximity

The following 7 statements refer to the proximity you experience towards your team members. In these statements "Team members" refers to the group of colleagues that you regularly have work related interactions with. Read each statement and select the response that applies to you the most ranging from 1 ("not at all") to 7 ("to a great extent").

1. I feel very close to my team members.

2. Even when we are not working in the same place, I still feel close to my team members.

3. I feel closer to my team members than the actual physical distance would suggest.

4. I have a warm feeling about my team members.

5. Physical distance doesn’t matter in my relationship with my team members.

Team Interdependence

The following 4 statements refer to the interdependency of tasks with your team members. In these statements "Team members" refers to the group of colleagues that you regularly have work related interactions with. Read each statement and select the response that applies to you the most ranging from 1 (not at all) to 7 (to a great extent).

1. I have to obtain information and advice from my fellow team members in order to complete my work.

2. I depend on my team members for the completion of my work.

Relational Conflict

The following 3 questions refer to the frequency of relational conflicts within your team. In these questions "Team" refers to the group of colleagues that you regularly have work related interactions with. Feedback Inquiry

The following 6 statements refer to feedback behavior. Read each statement and select the response that applies to you the most ranging from 1 ("strongly disagree") to 5 ("strongly agree").).

1. It takes a lot of effort to get useful feedback from my colleagues.

2. It is not a good idea to ask your colleagues for feedback; they might think you are incompetent.

42 3. It is embarrassing to ask my colleagues for their impression of how I am doing at work.

4. I think my colleagues would think worse of me if I asked them for feedback.

5. I would not be nervous about asking my colleagues how they evaluate my behaviors (Reversed).

6. It is better to try and figure out how you are doing on your own rather than ask your colleagues for feedback.

Feedback Seeking Frequency

The following 3 questions refer to the frequency of feedback behavior. Read each question and select the response that applies to you the most ranging from 1 ("very infrequently") to 5 ("very frequently").

In order to find out how well you are performing in your job, how FREQUENTLY do you:
