Hidrojen peroksit yutulduğunda meydana gelen akut etkiler, hidrojen peroksit solüsyonunun konsantrasyonuyla ve yutulan miktarla doğru orantılıdır.

Yanlışlıkla yutulan % 35’lik hidrojen peroksit kişide; siyanoz, kusma, solunum sorunları, konvülsiyon, hatta ölüme bile neden olabilir (128). Gaz embolisi

nedeniyle kalpte iskemik değişiklikler ve serebral enfarktüs de gözlenebilir (129).

8. Sonuç

Hastaya uygulanacak beyazlatma tedavisine başlamadan önce hasta anamnezi detaylı bir şekilde değerlendirilmeli, renklenme tipine ve derecesine göre tedavi şekilleri belirlenmeli ve tedavi prosedürleri hekim tarafından iyi bilinmelidir.

Faydadan çok zarara sebep olabilecek bir durum varsa bazı hastalarda beyazlatma tedavisi hiç uygulanmamalıdır.
